Construction of our Addition

They started working on our addition again today and got along marvelously!

They did all of this today!
This is our "stock pile"!

We picked some grapes in trade for some of our tomatoes

And made some delicious Grape Jam.

We picked tomatoes and peppers from our garden and canned picante sauce yesterday.

Salsa simmering

It made 24 pints and 3 quarts.

Over the last 3 days we have been blessed with 1.7 inches of rain! We thank the Lord for it!
It was raining when I took this photo and the sun was shining bright, what a beautiful rainbow!

Sweet Corn

We didn't grow our normal crop of Sweet Corn this year to sell, however Mom grew some rows in the garden.
Heres the steps after shucking and cleaning the corn:
Blanching the corn approx. 4-6 minutes

Cooling down the corn in ice-water

Cutting and scraping the kernels off

We got 35 quarts of cut off corn put in the freezer.

Purple Hull Peas

Here are some photos of our purple hull peas that we are growing for a vegetable cannery.
We have 100 acres of them and will be harvesting them in August.
